I was entertaining myself today reading some old MAL posts, and noticed that Jaime and I both failed to mention one of the funnier street people we have ever run into, the crazy lady at the Prague train station.

This was back during our European Odyssey in the summer of 1998. We were rolling into the Prague Train Station in the Czech Republic. After gathering our backpacks, we made our way into the lobby to find a taxi or a bus to take us to our hotel. While walking around the entry hall, a fairly normal looking middle aged woman approached Jaime and I.

“Sprechen Sie Deutsch?” she said in this kind of creepy monotone voice.

“Nope.” Jaime replied.

Jaime and I both nodded our heads in unison.

“GIVE… ME… MONEY!” she said slowly, and much louder this time, but once again uttered in that weird monotone.

I don’t recall exactly what Jaime’s response was, I believe it was laughter and a loud hearty, “OOOOOOHHH!” (correct me if I’m wrong Jaime)

And off we walked laughing hysterically, I remember glancing back at her and she looked a bit peeved.
